When auto insurance discounters compete for your auto insurance rate you win! Thats set in concrete. Always has been, always will be a. Competition brings out the cheapest quote. Insurance agents may be best friends at the local chamber mixer but let them fight for your auto insurance rate and they will be fiercly combative.
I used to go online and get my auto insurance rate, that is the fast way but WOW is it expensive, by 25% or better. The only person who can give you a truly discounted car insurance rate is the local agent because the discount comes out of Their commission.
When I came upon this secret method to get the local agent to compete for my affordable auto insurance I knew my days as a frustrated shopper were over and here’s why I love competition:
Reason I Love Competition #1: The agent does all the leg […]

Getting low cost auto insurance from auto insurance discounters is about as easy as pulling a tooth from a lion. Its just plain hard to do and horribly frustrating because the person you need to see is never there, is on the phone or not available.
True Auto insurance discounters usually do not want to be known, don’t publicize and certainly don’t want their competition to know that they are discounting their insurance. If you run across an insurance broker advertising low rates run because what they’re peddling is not good quality, family protecting car insurance but cheap bankrupting insurance designed to fulfill the state requirements and leave you in deep trouble should you have an accident.
There is only one place you can get a truly discounted auto insurance rate on quality car insurance and that is from your local car insurance agent. Yes, thats right! The local agent just […]

I’m doing a 2 part series on how you can save money on your insurance. In this part I’m going to talk about ways in which you can save some money on your car insurance.
Do you wish you could squeeze extra savings from your budget–without making any big sacrifices? Here’s an idea you may not have thought of: Slash the premiums you pay to insure your home. Rates have risen so sharply in recent years that it may seem impossible to cut these back. But there are many ways.
YOUR AUTO INSURANCEConsider canceling collision insurance (for damage) and comprehensive insurance (for theft) if your car is older. Your insurer will never pay more than the vehicle’s current resale value, which may be low for a car that’s been around. Ask your agent what you’re paying for collision and “comp” and compare it with what your car is worth right now. […]

Before you go for a travel, make sure you understand how travel health insurance can help you during the journey.
For you - as the purchaser of the travel insurance - it should matter as the source of payouts for problems - health, medical, financial and service - it all depends upon what type of the travel insurance you are choosing. It is also possible to get protected (or better say - get paid off) your stolen or lost possessions with the help of the travel insurance.
The list of the things that can be covered with the travel insurance is big which is a good proof that the amount of options you have to consider is really serious.
Surely shopping around for the travel insurance packages before purchasing is an absolute must for a traveler. Beyond any doubt there will be some kind of travel insurance coming with your traveling package -traveling […]

Unlike the rest of the world, owning a car in most parts of the western world is required. Without it, most of us can never get to work nor go to many other places for that matter.
We have public transportation too. Like everywhere else, there are trains, buses and metros. It’s just that the routes cover so little of the area that it is impractical for most of us. So over at this side of the pond, many of us are used to calling car expenses a necessity.
As a frugal minded person, there is no need to be upset because we cannot eliminate this expense. We can still drastically reduce the money we spend on a car by making financially sound decisions. Here are a few areas to look out for.
When to Replace Your Car
The easy answer is to drive the car until it no longer functions but for most […]

This is a reprint of an article I wrote for Being Frugal a few days ago…
When I was about 14 years old, my uncle suddenly and unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord. He had meticulously taken care of the finances for their family and left my aunt on a very solid financial foundation. Obviously, this didn’t take away the pain of him being gone, but his preparation eliminated additional stress that would have been present without it.
It’s one of those things we all prefer not to think about, but it is always better to be prepared. My aunt is still reaping from what my uncle sowed by having his things in order.
My FLOP
Being impacted by my uncle’s premature death and wanting to do everything I can do to help my wife, I decided to create a system for keeping things organized.
It has been a work in progress over […]

How will sunsetting zero down and fourty year mortgages affect Canadians? Neilson, the animating blogger behind No Communism, is sharing his views from a mortgage broker’s perspective. Thank you for the guest post. I appreciate it.
Let’s all take a minute to wave bye bye to zero down and forty year amortization mortgages. So long pals! It was nice for you to come by, even if you only stayed for a little while, stayed on our couch and drank our beer! Tootle-loo!
All kidding aside, this is absolutely huge for the mortgage market. And not in a good way.
In the real world, I’m a mortgage broker. For those of you unfamiliar with a broker, I work as a liaison between the borrower and the financial institutions. I take the application, pick which lender and product would best suit the borrower, then submit the deal to the lender, and […]

Money in your pocket = cheapest auto insurance quote. Now I know that a lower vehicle insurance rate isn’t a cure-all for budget problems but in turbulent times like these, with the cost of gas going out of sight, every thing you can do to cut back on costs puts extra money in your pocket. Who doesn’t like that?
No Matter what you do with the substantial savings it’s going to be fun. Any time you receive money that’s not in the budget it is shouting time. So what will you do with the money you’re going to save?
I hear you asking just how the heck do I get this cheap auto insurance? Well actually it’s not that difficult but with all the different people and web sites out there shouting for your business it gets confusing. So what I would like to do first is […]

There has never been a time when it has been easier for the average person in the street to own a sports car but most people are put off unnecessarily by the maintenance and safe auto insurance costs. Sports car insurance is a highly specialized area of auto insurance specifically dealing with high performance exotic or sports cars. Most sports car insurance policies will provide comprehensive insurance which covers damage to property, costs for legal representation, liability and of course medical expenses.
There are many things involved in calculating the cost of sports car insurance for each individual driver as the risks will differ from person to person. For instance, every vehicle has an insurance rating which is primarily based around two areas; its power to weight ratio and the cost of replacement parts. Although the driver’s previous record is taken into account when assessing the sports car insurance risk, so […]

If you have ever asked yourself why women usually get lower auto insurance rates than men, the main reason is women drivers, as a whole, aren’t involved in as many claims as their male counterparts. In research it is found that women seem to be safer drivers; perhaps it is because they drive slower and are more cautious than men; often driving more modest vehicles based on excellent safety features.
That is the reason that car insurance providers are happy to give policies to women than men as they know that there is less of a chance they will make an insurance claim. The problem is that although both sexes actually face similar driving conditions, when a man has an accident, the damage to the vehicle is normally far greater than if a woman had been driving. In light of these facts it is not surprising to find that the insurance premium […]
