Coming Out Of Early Retirement
Speaking from first -hand experience, retirement is boring without a sense of purpose.
A friend once told me that she was urging her lazing folks to take an exotic vacation on the belief that inertia rushes your natural time clock. I can attest to that; one week into the new job, I’ve found my fountain of youth already.
To talk briefly about job hunting, the Vancouver labour market is boiling, but landing a job is still no guarantee, especially for someone like me who hasn’t written a proper resume for the past 10 years. One employer even suggested that I rework my resume. Ouch! Guess all that blogging didn’t help much. On the bright side, after many revisions and 6 interviews later, at least one company found me intriguing enough to cast an offer letter. But boy, it was a tough one to fight for.
