Google survey paying $75/hr

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Taking a survey to help your buddy Google

If you are looking to make some money as a guinea pig for Google, you might want to sign up for their usability study. They typically pay $75 per hour that you spend with the Google researcher (in person or on the phone). They have some online surveys which are completed from your home computer and the payment varies based on the length of the survey.
From the Google FAQ page about it:

What am I signing up for?
You’d be helping us to improve Google products, both existing ones and those that are still in development. For example, we might ask you to try out a prototype and give us feedback on it, or we might interview you to help us plan a new product.

They are looking for all types of people: those experienced with Google products, new users and everything in between. There are […]

Women Drive Safely Than Men And Pay Less Premium On Auto Insurance

Monday, June 30th, 2008

If you have ever asked yourself why women usually get lower auto insurance rates than men, the main reason is women drivers, as a whole, aren’t involved in as many claims as their male counterparts. In research it is found that women seem to be safer drivers; perhaps it is because they drive slower and are more cautious than men; often driving more modest vehicles based on excellent safety features.
That is the reason that car insurance providers are happy to give policies to women than men as they know that there is less of a chance they will make an insurance claim. The problem is that although both sexes actually face similar driving conditions, when a man has an accident, the damage to the vehicle is normally far greater than if a woman had been driving. In light of these facts it is not surprising to find that the insurance premium […]

The 1031 Tax Exchange Calculates That 30 Years Loan Brings The Monthly Payments Down

Monday, June 30th, 2008

The monthly repayments for 30 year or 15 year fixed mortgage are just one important consideration for many people who are looking to buy a home. Of course the goal for most people with a mortgage is to pay it off early and save themselves a great deal of money in interest repayments. There are always things to take into account before signing documents. One important point is to ensure that the interest rate does not change during the life of the loan. There are nice advantages to purchasing a property using the 1031 tax exchange. Another requirement of a 1031 exchange is that the transaction is completed in forty-five days.
It is found that some lenders are happy to offer deals that appear too good to be true and they usually are. A fixed rate mortgage maintains a set interest rate during the period of the loan. For those individuals […]

Motivation Monday - Hang Around Motivated People

Monday, June 30th, 2008

I’m sure there’s been so much talk about this that it’s almost become cliche but if you want to be motivated, it will help so much to be around motivated people!
As I think back, I can already see this since I was in school. I remember that people seem to form groups during school and that in turn dictates everyone’s social circle. On one end, there was the group of people that didn’t really socialized but was probably on top of their class. On the other end of the spectrum, there were the coolest kids who usually weren’t doing so good in school. These two groups didn’t set a mandate to be a certain way, but they turned out that way because of the members themselves.
When everyone in your group is about trying to talk to the opposite sex instead of studying for school, it is […]

What I Own Right Now

Monday, June 30th, 2008

I updated my current stock and option portfolio page with my current positions and will update my month end results at the end of business today.  If all of my July naked puts are assigned I’d be on margin by a few thousand dollars, but don’t expect that to happen.  Add in my few August naked puts and I’m taking a bigger risk.  VIP remains my only long position.  Not shown here is the $90k I’m keeping in a money market to cover most of these puts.  I’m riding light right now for my August options and will ease into them as I find stocks I like, with a better risk/reward ratio.

Insurance Quotes Provide An Easy Way To Inquire For A Home Insurance Plan

Monday, June 30th, 2008

A home insurance policy of Home owners insurance quote is a financial arrangement whereby all of your household possessions located in your home are protected against loss, theft or damage. Home insurance can also be bought as part of a joint buildings and contents policy but this is only worthwhile if you own your own home.
If you are searching for the ideal Insurance Quotes, it would be worthwhile spending some time going around your home making up a written inventory of all your most important possessions. One way to do this in addition to a written report is to make a video of all the rooms including possessions that have value and if you do not own a video then a camera will do just as well. Combined with the written inventory, this makes an excellent record of your home and property. Do not forget to update this record each […]

Ipod Holder And Cell Phone Case Are Essentials In My Life

Monday, June 30th, 2008

I just bought an iPod and now it is forever ruined . I knew I shouldn’t have thrown out that Cell case. I never used one with any of my older iPods so I never thought to keep this one either. When I would go for my runs I would just keep the iPod in my pocket or my sock . Looking back I realize that it was a stupid mistake . It flew out and hit the curb and skipped across it. It didn’t break in half or anything, but it was all scratched up. I can barely see what song is playing on the LCD screen . It still plays music, but I think it’s not as loud as before. I’m torn here. I wonder if I should buy a new one I don’t even […]

Paying in CASH

Monday, June 30th, 2008

We’ll focus on just one technique to improve your finances - paying in cash. Here’s how making cash-only purchases can help you to budget, save and invest.
A Plastic Paradise
With rapid increases in the use of plastic over hard currency, some people consider carrying cash old fashioned. To be fair, plastic is much sexier than a bit of colored paper with a deceased president gazing into the great beyond. Some banks even allow you to customize the color and graphics on your credit and debit cards.

Debit and credit cards also offer the advantage of security. With them, you need a signature and/or a PIN number to access your funds. Cash is only protected by your ability to defend it should someone want to take it from you.
Except for the odd country store, plastic is accepted in as many places as cash is. Yet cash is almost always the better choice for […]
