A bad day for our 3 methods today as the market threw us a whipsaw day to end the week. The crazy Central Bank fund injection in the last 2 days have really thrown the market in some unexpected swings. It’s always annoying to give back some of our gains in a day like today, but overall we had a great week with +164 pips on Method 1, +68 pips on Method 2 (KO) and +25 on Method 3 (JAB).

A bit more quiet today with only 2 trades, but still slightly positive overall. 2 news today moved the market, the UK trade balance coming out at -6.3B vs -6.5B and the US Unemployment Claims coming out at 316k vs 310k.

WOW!! Today was, I believe, our best day ever. What a Knockout!! The carry trade unwinded some more and brought the GBP to a new medium term low, unhelped by a pretty mild BoE inflation report. We have been able to profit a lot from these huge move so far this week. Our KO as almost catch back completely on it’s recent drawdown and our 1st method also almost back in profitability after a much longer than usual drawdown. Our patience is once again well rewarded.

Another nice day for us today, although a much smaller and mainly in our JAB setup which interestingly hadn’t benefited yesterday. Here are the main US news out today:
Nonfarm Productivity q/q (p) came out at 1.8% vs 2.1%
Unit Labor Costs q/q (p) came out at 2.1% vs 1.8%
Interest Rate Statement unchanged at 5.25%
Consumer Credit m/m came out at 13.2B vs 5.5B

What a great day! The GBP resumed it’s medium term downtrend today with a huge breakout to the down side that came just in time for our 1st method setup signal. An easy way to our 1st target and a huge gain on the second half. A great breakout results as well with our KO setup. All this without major economic news. However there was quite a major unwinding of carry trade and some stock market jitters. So we are expecting some wild fluctuation this week and it will be interesting to see if we will be able to profit from this action. It’s always hard when our stop our tight, but if we get the right setup, it could be a lot profitable as well.

A slightly profitable day today as the KO got a breakout on the long GBP side which has been retracing from it’s downward move in the last few days. Considering that the medium trend has been down, it’s always nice to do some pips on the counter trend (or short time trend). However our JAB trade wasn’t well positioned and loss back some of these pips, although we don’t have many of our subscribers in the JAB at the moment. on the second half. Services PMI came out at 57 vs 57.5
US ECONOMICS NEWS:
Nonfarm Employment Change came out at 92k vs 135k
Unemployment Rate came out at 4.6% vs 4.5%
Average Hourly Earnings m/m came out unchanged at 0.3%
ISM Non-Manufacturing Index came out at 55.8 vs 59.5
ISM Non-Manufacturing Prices came out at 61.3 vs 64

Some really important news were on the Economic Agenda today, mainly the UK interest rate decision which remained at 5.75%. The most important US news was the Unemployment Claims which came out lower than expected at 307k vs 315k. Overall we benefited slightly in today’s movement with trades in method 1 and 3 as reported below:

UK ECONOMIC NEWS:
Manufacturing PMI came out at 55.7 vs 54
BRC Shop Price Index y/y came out at 0.6&

US ECONOMIC NEWS:
ADP Nonfarm Employment Change came out at 48k vs 103k
ISM Manufacturing Index came out at 53.8 vs 55.7
ISM Manufacturing Prices came out at 65 vs 66.5
Pending Home Sales m/m came out at 5.0% vs -0.5%
Domestic Vehicle Sales came out at 11.7M vs 12.0M
We had a great setup on our 1st method with a profit target on the first half, and some extra pips on the second half. Unfortunately our KO got triggered and stop after a retracement whilst our JAB trade didn’t do much better (it was split in 2 by mistake which ended up saving everyone a few pips as we re-entered at a better price). Here are the results:
